Pyridoxine

As a core member of the B-vitamin family, pyridoxine, namely vitamin B6, is an essential water-soluble small-molecule substance that maintains the normal physiological functions of the human body. After being converted into its active form pyridoxal phosphate via phosphorylation in vivo, it can act as a coenzyme to participate in more than 100 enzymatic reactions, covering multiple key physiological processes such as amino acid metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis, hemoglobin production and immune function regulation. Clinically, it is mainly used for the prevention and treatment of vitamin B6 deficiency, including seborrheic dermatitis and cheilosis, and can also be used to relieve vomiting during pregnancy. Meanwhile, as a nutritional supplement, it is applicable to people with increased demand for B vitamins caused by insufficient intake, special physiological stages or chronic diseases.

The global pyridoxine market size has maintained a stable growth trend for a long time. In 2023, the market size was approximately USD 320 million, with a compound annual growth rate of around 4.7%. Due to the mature synthesis process of pyridoxine and the long expiration of patent protection, the global production capacity is highly concentrated in East Asia. Chinese enterprises account for more than 80% of the global API supply share, and the competitive landscape of leading enterprises is stable. Among the downstream demand, the nutritional supplement sector accounts for more than 60%, and the pharmaceutical preparation sector accounts for about 25%. With the improvement of global consumer awareness of nutrition and health and the growth of demand for nutritional intervention for chronic diseases, there is still room for continuous release of market demand.

As a vitamin variety that achieved industrialized production relatively early, pyridoxine has no clear single original research enterprise. At present, the mainstream pharmaceutical-grade products in the world all comply with the pharmacopoeia standards of multiple countries. According to the domestic API registration platform, more than 30 enterprises have completed CDE registration of pyridoxine API with the status of A, which can be directly associated with preparation declaration. The domestically marketed pyridoxine preparations cover multiple dosage forms such as tablets and injections, all of which have been included in the National Essential Medicine List. (Data as of September 2024, please refer to the official CDE website for the latest information)

CATO provides a full set of impurity reference standards for pyridoxine API, most of which are in stock. For in-stock products, orders placed before 16:00 will be shipped on the same day. The products fully comply with the regulatory requirements of multiple regulations such as the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and FDA, and can provide stable and reliable reference standard support for API R&D, quality research and declaration processes.
