Pamabrom

In response to the clinical treatment demand for cognitive function decline in patients with Alzheimer's disease, bama bromide, as an innovative nervous system drug of acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, selectively inhibits the activity of acetylcholinesterase in the brain, slows down the degradation rate of acetylcholine, and thus improves the transmission efficiency of cholinergic nerves in the central nervous system. It is mainly used for the treatment of cognitive function improvement in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease, and can delay the progression of symptoms such as memory loss and executive ability decline. It is an important component of the clinical treatment regimen for senile neurodegenerative diseases.

Currently, the global number of Alzheimer's disease patients has exceeded 55 million, and the market size of related therapeutic drugs maintains an average annual growth rate of 7.2%, among which acetylcholinesterase inhibitors account for 38% of the symptomatic treatment market share. As a sub-category of drugs with lower incidence of adverse reactions in this category, there are less than 10 generic preparation application enterprises worldwide for bama bromide at present, and no first generic approval has been obtained in China, so the market competition pattern is relatively relaxed. With the acceleration of the domestic aging process in the future, the potential clinical demand space is expected to maintain a compound annual growth rate of more than 12%.

The original research enterprise of bama bromide is Teva Pharmaceutical from Israel, and the original research trade name is Exelon. Its compound patent in the US market expired in 2010, and the core patent in China expired in 2012. The main dosage forms approved for the original research include capsules, oral solutions and transdermal patches. Among them, the capsules have specifications of 1.5mg, 3mg, 4.5mg and 6mg, which have been included in the FDA Reference Listed Drug Catalog and China's *Catalog of Reference Preparations for Chemical Drugs*. At present, there are 11 domestic registration numbers of bama bromide APIs, 6 of which are in status A, and more than 10 other enterprises have submitted marketing applications for preparations, but no domestic preparations have been approved yet.
