Bisphenol S
As an important bisphenol compound in the industrial field, bisphenol S is often used as an alternative raw material for bisphenol A in scenarios such as thermal paper, epoxy resin, polycarbonate resin, and medical material coatings. Due to its stable chemical structure and better heat resistance and light resistance than bisphenol A, its application in subdivided fields such as food contact materials, surface treatment of medical devices, and coating materials for pharmaceutical preparations is gradually expanding. At present, academic research on the exposure risk of bisphenol S is still ongoing, and relevant residue detection standards are also being continuously improved, supporting its industrial application within the scope of compliance.
At present, the annual global market size of bisphenol S is approximately RMB 3.2 billion, and the compound annual growth rate from 2023 to 2028 is expected to remain around 4.8%. On the supply side, China is the world's most important producer of bisphenol S, with production capacity accounting for more than 70% of the global total. Leading enterprises are concentrated in Jiangsu, Shandong and other regions, and the industry concentration is relatively high. On the demand side, as global restrictions on the use of bisphenol A become stricter, the proportion of demand for bisphenol S in fields related to medical packaging and pharmaceutical excipients has been increasing year by year, and is now close to 18% of the total demand.
